An automatic sliding door has a lot of moving parts hidden in the header and the track: belts, wheels, guides and a motor, plus the sensors that tell it when to move. Wheels wear out on a schedule. On most brands they need replacing every five years or so, and a worn wheel usually shows up first as noise.

Why is our sliding door so noisy all of a sudden?
Noise is usually the first sign of worn wheels, a dry or damaged track, or a guide that's out of place. On most brands wheels need replacing about every five years. Catching it at the noise stage is cheaper than waiting for the door to stall.
Can you repair and inspect the door on the same visit?
